Hi everybody, I'm new to this forum and forums in general. I have a few issues with the 1993 toyota pickup I just inherited from my dad.

I have a cracked leaf spring, and a leaf spring that was driven around with no bushings, I cannot find locally springs that are less than $180 a piece, is there anywhere online reputable to find them for a less expensive price? I've tried searching, but am having no real luck finding anything that seems reasonably priced. The truck body is in pretty rough shape, but the frame is in okay shape I would really like to get it on the road.

I also need to find shocks, and have been wondering if a lift kit that includes them and the other necessary parts would be a better cheaper option. Or if i purchased lift springs as i see listed on summit such as these http://www.summitracing.com/parts/slf- 7045r/overview/year/1993/make/toyota/model/pickup
if there is a easy way to lvl the truck with the ifs suspension.

My boyfriend doesn't mind doing some minor fabrication for me, whether its welding or torch work, so some DIY is okay. He's also my mechanic, and has offered to help fix her up for me, but has asked me to help source parts and do the research.

If you just wanna fix the problem quick i would recommend going to a local junk yard and buying them there. Sure they will be used. but it is a nice temporary fix. Look into 90-95 pickups and 4runners. They arent that hard to remove at all. and that will definitely be under 100 for both lol. Also take a look at shocks there too. you'd be surprised what you find on these trucks some times. Shocks are also easy to remove. they are only 2 bolts each. Good luck. and welcome to yotatech

 

Last I Checked General Spring out of Kansas City had the best price .

One thing to think about is springs are heavy so freight costs will play into the overall price.

I just checked the price $129.99 plus the freight cost .

Don`t forget the u-bolts maybe a rear shackle kit and new hardware for the spring hangers.

Being this is a New England truck it is going to be easier to cut everything all off and install new hardware

Come Monday I'm going to do some junkyard searching, and wanted to clarify and just double check that 90-95 pickup and 4 runner leaf springs would fit my 93 4wd pickup.

I'm going to also look at General Spring out of Kansas City, and see how much shipping would be.

 

Hey newbie to yotatech here. Just wanted to say thanks all for future reference as we will be best friends I hope haha. I just bought a 92 Toyota pick up from a friend with 210k miles. He hated the truck and dogged it all the time. It has a coolant leak and many other issues although the engine still seems strong but it rides so rough my gf avoids it like the plague XD. When scanning this site I ran across this forum and I instantly started planning a junkyard trip. Would the leaf springs for the 90-95 pickup and 4runner fit a 92 2wd 4cyl pickup 5spd? And is the door panel the only way to verify year?

4runners have coil springs, so no. Pickups you listed, yes.

The 10th character of the vin # designates year. Driver's lower corner of windsheild.

I found this chart awhile back. I think it was on this forum ( but not sure ). Anyway, it shows dimensions for the stock springs on these trucks as well as the model years they fit. It may help you when you look in the junk yards or ordering new. Any knowledge is good knowledge if it's the right knowledge. Good luck with your search.
