Tool for holding timing gear when removing head

Is there a tool and is one necessary?

The last time I did a head gasket on a 22re I remember the timing gear dropped down slightly when I took the head off.
I was able to use a pry bar to lift it back into place when I installed the head but I imagine there is a tool to hold it so you cannot accidently skip a tooth?

Does anyone know where I can get one?

There isn't a tool. The tool i used is call plastic zip ties! Just zip tie the chain to the cam gear before removal. When going back on if you rock the crank back and forth and pull up on the gear at the same time it'll go on.

I used zip ties and a piece of string holding it up to the hood.
