Exclamation T100 4wd not working

I have a 1998 Toyota T100 SR5. I recently had to swap out the front differential because I had broken a tooth in it when i was wheeling. After I intalled it, everything seemed to work and the light on the dash would come on when the 4wd was engaged. Now whenever I shift into 4wd (either hi or lo) the light will not come on, or it will flicker for awhile but then stay off. I'm pretty sure my front wheels arent getting power to them either. What gives? did I do something wrong when I replaced the differential? Yes, the front driveshaft is connected. I would appreciate any help on this cause im a college student in colorado, meaning i have no money and a snowy winter in my future. Thank you

First off jack up the front when in 4wd and see if they spin. They spin its just a sensor for the light..

If they dont spin check all the vacuum lines at the diff, something might not be connected right.

Try this, I think T100s use the same system

CJM, if i jack up the front, wouldn't the rear tires drive my truck right off the jack stands? also i bought the differential at a pick n pull, could it be defective?

I think he means with the truck turned off...jack the truck up and turn the tire by hand.

If not, just put the whole truck on jack stands so all 4 wheels are off the ground.

Whoops forgot to say it needs to be up on all 4 corners.

But locked in 4wd the half shafts shouldnt turn either and be locked with the truck off. They will be locked.
