Been looking several times for an exploded diagram or pictures of the rebuild for a 22REC intake manifold. Saw someone say "superbleeder" took lots of pictures, but couldn't find anything that would help. Any sites, pictures, users locations would be appreciated!!

Finished putting in a 22REC rebuild, bored .002 over, new pistons, rings and cam, but lacks power. Still breaking it in. Runs great, but lacks any power. When engine was new in 90, could almost turn the tires on pavement just letting out the clutch. Have checked vacuum lines, and not finding anything wrong. EGR valve working (cleaned out as much carbon as possible), distributor in line, new plugs. Any suggestions?

Did you double check your timing? Possible that your distributor was installed incorrectly/180* off? All your sensors connected? All your sensor connections cleaned and tested? Valve lash in factory specs? You exhaust piping all connected? Running w/o an exhaust immediately after a rebuild as some have done will negatively effect. Could also be bad gas and/or clogged injectors due to corrosion depending on how long it was sitting.

Typically, if all the vacuum and mechanical is in order, the ECMs is running in safe mode to protect the engine as it isn't getting all the info it needs to optimize performance and ensure it won't self destruct the engine when so doing... The FSM has info on the checking everything on air, fuel, and spark, and definitely check the sensors first.

Did check the timing again, 5 degrees above TDC.

Not sure about sensors, did have 3 wires coming to a connector (all three come together on one end of the connector, and a screw/bolt goes through it, silver colored), rectangular shaped, and wasn't quite sure where to put it. It is on the intake side, saw it on a picture of a removed engine, but not quite sure where it goes.

Other sensors hooked up, but not sure how to test, any guidance there would be appreciated. (i'm a box of rocks there!! :-) )

Exhaust is all hooked up.

Injectors were out, about 2/3 months in a bag to keep clean. Gas sat 4 months.

Do I need to take it to the dealer to do all that? Auto zone?
