94 MT Runner 3.0 MT to 3.4 Auto with 97 MT ECU
ok, I have studied my brain stupid with the swap write ups and I can't seem to find one with a MT 3.4 with MT ECU for 94 MT recipient. Will this be pretty much plug and play with exception to my dash harness for my 3.0 rig}
I actually found a 97 Runner MT 3.4 harness, so they claim, and 97 Runner MT ECU for the 97 Runner 3.4 AUTo engine, but I am just confused as to how it will all play out with my tranny and dash harness for my 94 recipient. I know the dash harness plug will need to be swapped, but what about the other things. Will they too need to be pinned}
If I can get away with building a jumper harness from my 94 3.0 to MT plug for the ecu, I think this would be perfect. But I don't know where to start with exception to studying the TIS docs. Is the the easiest approach} If not, what is the easiest way for my noobie fingers and not so sharp mind}
Plenty of write ups using the auto harness to MT ecu but nothing on the MT to the MT ecu...........or did I miss something. They claim it is the best way to go, but I simply dont know.
I will be downloading the TIS docs for the 94 MT recipient and the 97 Auto engine and the 97 MT. or should I just forget the Auto docs and stick with just the MT so I don't get more confused as I already am.
Any thoughts, links or experience will be greatly appreciated. This is my first major project so I hope to make it as easy as possible.
Thanks guys for your help!

If you have the 97 Engine Wire harness Part # 821121-3D420 and the 97 ECM Part # 89661-3D310
The only thing you need to worry about is merging the vehicle harness
The best thing is to have the EWD of the Engine vehicle and the one for your vehicle.
Once you install the manual harness the Auto no longer exists !!!
I know there are a few extras that need doing like the starter solenoid wire and the circuit opening relay to turn on the fuel pump.
To me the wiring is the easy part of the swap.

Just when I thought.....
Things were getting easy having the MT harness, I checked my email and found that it was mis posted as a MT harness. But for the trouble, they sold me a 96 Runner AT 4x4 harness in A condition for $125 shipping included.
Not a bad price as it is $50 cheaper.................now..........let the fun begin at least I have the 97 MT ecu...

Take a look at the 3.4 Swap 101 in the stickies, converting from A/T to M/T is outlined there (based around a 97 4x4 4Runner no less).

Converting the 96 A/T 4x4 4Runner harness to work with the 97 4x4 M/T 4Runner ECU is relatively painless (that's exactly what I did with mine). As far as I could tell, the EWDs were identical between the 96 and 97 4Runners.

THanks for the input as I was mostly concerned , for now, about the wire difference between the years. Ill head off to get the TIS ewds now. But, there is a lot to do before I get to that point. The engine has a ticking so I am guessing tight exhaust valves. 123,500 miles on the 97 donor. I seafoamed my 3.0 and it killed the ticking. But, since I have it on the stand, Ill be doing a valve adjustment, matching the intake gasket to plenium, and changing the timing belt first then on to the wiring.
I know I can do this, but I have only wired in a stereo once........this is all new. the ewd looks like an asian noodle dish to me. But if others can do it, so can I.
Now, for my engine to get here and onto the stand.
