89 toyota 4x4 22-re wont start after oil pan pull and clean. help!!

hello, i have an 89 toyota 4x4 pickup (22-re) 130k that i bought a few months back. always ran and started good. the truck then sat for 3 weeks without me starting it. Yesterday i took off the steering column and unbolted the oil pan. It still didnt come off so i just unscrewed the 4 bolts holding the oil pan filter, took it out and wiped it down, (the screen was a little clogged so i fixed that too.) I then cleaned out all the little plastic timing guides out of the bottom of the pan by hand. I then bolted the oil pan filter back in. put sealant around the pan and put the oil pan back on. Waited an hour, then added new oil and filter (4.5 quarts). no leaks. Next i took the battery off the trickle charger (it had full charge) and installed it. Turned the key..... and nothing. only the key buzzer goes off. It doesn't even want to try and start. I just cant believe it. i didnt starve the engine of oil. what the heck happened? I looked around and havent seen anything like my problem....please any input or trouble shooting guides would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like your battery terminals are not on correct

When you removed the cables did you short anything??

terminals clean and tight not broken.

You did not knock the wire off the starter solenoid in moving around under the truck??

That or something at the battery.

It was the cable running to the starter. it was corroded and a little loose on the solenoid. I probably smacked it yesterday while doing something and that was the last straw. cleaned the terminals and plugged it back in, cranks right up. whew. thank you for your help and ideas, im in no way considered a mechanic, so i panic easily. here's to the first of many stupid mistakes. haha

As long as you learn from your mistakes.

Try not to panic just think things out

It is all a learning experience .

Welcome!!
