Not getting any power to the pump and it is new.

 

Somebody correct me if Im wrong but doesnt the fuel pump get the signal to come on from the airflow meter on top of the airbox. Somebody can probably provide a link to the fsm but you should be able to troubleshoot the problem with that.

 

Is there a way to just wire pump up with a switch and would it work if I did.

 

yes, after bringing mine back from the dead, I had a switched fuel pump for about a week till i could sort out other issues.

I traced the FP hot back into the cab under the passenger seat where the wires exit under the truck and taped in there with a hot lead & a switch.

On my 89 the wire was blue with black stripe and brown dots
