when ever i lock my hubs and im engaged into 4wd i hear a ticking sound when i turn. i think its my cv joints. but i dont know the 4wd drive shop is gonna charge me 200 bucks just to look at it. those cheap bastards. can you guys help me? and is it a do it your self job?

 

Doesn't sound like they're cheap bastards at all... $200 for CV inspection? I'm in the wrong business.

It's not a difficult job, a bit of research on here and you will have all the info you need to get tools lined up and tackle it yourself. You should be somewhat mechanically inclined and not afraid to get dirty though. Good luck!

 

now I feel like a jack ass. ha ha well thanks man. Im pretty well equipped in my garage ill just do the research and fix the problem head on

 

They wanted $200.00 just to look that should pay to replace them or at least the labor.

The inner axel bushings might need greasing.
