I'm getting this issue when making a sharp turn or flexing the truck out. LC 8 and 7.5 wraps. I'm thinking of bending the skid where it's rubbing or cutting part of it away with a sawzall. What is causing this?

 

You need a pan hard drop to center that rear axle back up. The LC coils max out the flex of the pan hard bar and cause it to pull to the driver side.

 

Honestly I don't trust the PH drop bracket to survive very long with the wheeling I do and as often as I wheel. Would it hurt to leave the PH bar in the stock location and just cut the part of the skid it is rubbing?

 

I don't think trimming the tank skid would hurt anything, I'm thinking about lengthening my bar a bit to fix mine.

 

if you don't want the panhard drop bracket, you'll need the adjustable panhard rod (lateral control rod) to center your rear axle.

Will centering the axle fix the rub on the gas tank skid? Isn't this because of the angle of the pH bar? The drop bracket just doesn't seem very sturdy. I honestly might as well sell the LC coils and just order some OME rears for the cost of a adjustable PH bar.

 

Yes centering the axle should fix the problem. Its not so much the angle of the bar as the length. The adjustable one is spendy, but you have to remember when you change one thing it changes everything around it so you have to work thru all of it. Just part of modifying an automobile Lol. I marked the skid, removed it, and cut out a section with a grinder. I then flexed it out and got no rub, SO FAR. I'll be taking it out soon so we will see.
