Vibration with clutch out

Kind of a scary problem...afraid it could be clutch/flywheel/input shaft.

So, about 6 months ago, I noticed that every now and then, when I'd first start my truck in the morning, I pull out of the garage, then have to get out to close the garage door.

When I put it in neutral and let out the clutch, the truck shakes. Clutch in, it goes away.

It's started doing it way more often. Used to only happen at most once a day. Now it regularly happens when I first start the truck.

After driving a few blocks, I can sit at a light with the clutch out, and no shaking.

But it is absolutely happening more often now.

Where should I be looking for something wrong? It's got a new clutch and transmission, but I know that doesn't completely rule out something being wrong there.

Would it help if I noticed some vibration in 4th gear, going 45mph? As soon as I downshifted into 3rd, it went away.

That's assuming it's the same issue, not seperate issues.

Always hard to tell around here, though, especially in the spring, since the roads are so bad.

I would look into a bad throw out bearing.

What kind of clutch?

I don't think it would be a input shaft or warped flywheel due to it only doing it with the clutch out.

My truck did the same thing prior to starting my build. It would shake like a steering shimmy at certain speeds, but it clearly wasn't coming from the steering since it was dependent on whether or not the clutch was in. I replaced the clutch, throw out bearing and pilot bearing - didn't help. I want to believe that it could be the input and output bearings in the tranny or transfer case. Could possibly be an unbalanced driveshaft but that seems unlikely since the drive shaft still spins whether it is under load or not. Flywheel is unlikely since it spins regardless of whether the clutch is in or out.

Let me know what you find out. If mine goes away after my build then I won't really be able to tell you what was causing it since I've rebuilt everything on my drivetrain.

That would be too bad...I'm getting sick of pulling this tranny! But I've gotten pretty good and quick at it.

I bought a LUK clutch. It's about...2 years old.
