New one for me...Oil cap removed idle drops?
Im assuming this is not normal? Any idea of the cause? If you pinch off the vent hose from the intake the problem goes away.

Mine does the same thing. It creates a vacuum leak. Normal.

Yup there is a tube that leads from the valve cover to the intake just before the throttle body to vent the crankcase, and by opening the oil cap it allows unmetered air into the intake, so the idle drops

This is it exactly. Perfectly normal for the idle change.

never noticed this because i have had leaky valve cover gaskets them leaky cam plugs. i have had the truck almost 3 years and never had a sealed valve cover. lol
