Check engine light came on after tune up

Check engine light came on after tune up
90' Toyota 4runner 4WD 3.0 I did a tuneup replaced spark plug and wires one of the spark plug wires got caught on the exhaust and melted the wire in half. Replaced wires. Now when I start it up it idols perfectly with no problem but when I put it in drive check engine light comes on and lose powers all of a sudden. I turn it off start it back up no check engine light let the truck run for 30 min no check engine light comes on til I but it back in gear. Need help. Very much appreciate it. Thank you.
