spring tensioner and hyrdaulic tensioner on 3vze?

i've got a hydraulic tensioned 3vze, can i use my fan clutch assembly on a spring tensioned 3vze? or are they different?
also, can i remove the spring tensioner and use a hydraulic tensioner assembly instead?

I'm pretty sure that you can't use the hydra tensioned fan clutch...the tensioner is bolted to it. Without it you'd have a pretty big hole that would allow rocks/crap to get into your timing setup.

Now swapping the entire assembly...that I don't know; I haven't seen the spring tensioned version. If the bolt pattern on the block is identical to a hydraulic tensioned version, then I can't see why you couldn't swap the entire assembly. You would need to swap the idler pully, tensioner(hydra) and fan clutch assembly.

My block has an unused bolt hole, directly behind the idler pulley that is hydraulically tensioned...so maybe that bolt hole is for a spring tensioner pulley...not sure.

I might be misunderstanding the question.

You just want to swap the clutch? Sure, I didn't look up part numbers but, pretty sure that'll swap right over.

The pulley bracket? No thats not going to work, see the link below.

You're all over it CO94.

According to that thread it's not as easy as 1-2-3.
