Bypassed AC Cut Relay..

Ok need help, after a lot of googling and searching, and working on my 93 4runner Air Conditioning System..

I converted the AC fittings from r12 to r134, charged the freon, and trying to work out all the gremlins, me and the electrician decided to bypass the AC Cut Off Relay, its a relay only found on the 4x4 Autos...

The AC is working great now.. but what do you guys think? change the relay.. or keep it like that?

What's the purpose of the relay? From the manual, it looks like it inhibits A/C when the engine gets too warm (based on an ECT switch).

Why did your electrician (and you) decide to bypass it? Are you just sure the engine will never overheat when you're using A/C?

I found some other people have done the same thing, all the other 4runners (2wd, 4x4 manual), dont have that relay, per seeing the other posts, even after $1,000 dollars they couldnt find the gremlin, it sucks, just wanted to know if anybody has done this as well...

Its a fail safe for the auto rigs. It turns off the ac when the motor starts getting warm. Fix it the right way. Replace the relay or whatever triggering the relay to trip.
