I have a 1985 4Runner with a auto tranny and it will not shift out of first gear sometimes. It has not ever slipped or been hot. I can turn the truck off and take off and it will shift fine through all gears. Fluid is clean. What would cause this?

 

tranny relay or solenoid. had a buddy with this problem and he over rode the relays with toggle switches

 

You wouldn't happen to know where or which ones would ya?
