how to change air conditioner filter on a 2001 Toyota Tacoma

I am trying to find out if 2001 Toyota Tacoma has an air conditioner filter and how to change it.

if you mean the cabin air filter, then no it doesnt have one i belive a 98-03tacoma is the same and mine is a 98 had some A/C troubles that i fixed and took the whole heater core and condensor out to clean it out and didnt see a single cabin filter.

thank you very much for your answer, it helped me alot. I now know to look elsewhere for my problem. AC is making noise when the blower speed is turned up, maybe it just needs to be cleaned out or replaced.

it might just be the blower motor going bad on you.

Could also have debris in the fan. Rodents are quite adept at taking fiberglass from under the hood and depositing it in the HVAC blower.

i got to ask i have never seen rodents around my engine bay or cab of any of my vehicles, but i do got to say it must suck to have them there and i bet it gets stinky too.

It doesn't suck. It's worse.

With my previous truck, a '94, I pulled four nests out of the heater fan and one out from in front of the A/C evaporator. A mouse also got shredded in the fan and flung guts into the evaporator box. That's aside from the pee streaks they leave on everything. I pulled the beginnings of a nest out from under the intake in my current truck and I've only had that since August. Relatives were living here for a while in '11 and mice wrecked the headlight wiring of their truck and built a nest on the engine of their car. There are many other non-car stories, too.

Words cannot adequately describe the seething hatred I have for rodents.
