87 22re odd startup/idle issue

ok so ive googled the crap out of idling problems for the 22re, and i have found plenty of things but nothing that really seems to match up with my issue. So i thought id ask on here, and get some info or ideas to narrow down the problem.
so starting yesterday everytime i start my truck it idles pretty rough sorta like its running on 3 pistons for id say about 15-30 seconds then smooths out back to normal on its own. it also doesint seem to matter if its cold or warmed up, i can turn the truck off then turn it right back on no rough idle problems, but if the truck sits for like 5-10min or so the rough idle problem comes back at startup for those estimated 15-30seconds. also occasionally it will smoke white smoke for the duration of the rough idle but i think that may be oil thats getting up into the pcv valve or somthing because that goes away as well as soon as the rough idle goes away. the white smoke problem has happened ocasionally ever since i took off the oil cap while it was running so im not sure if its related or somthing else. its a "shop" rebuilt 22re with about 6k miles on it runs good has plenty of pep, it does burn a bit of oil, more then id like i think i got screwed over on the rebuild and they didint put new seals or somthing idk. it does have a bit of a whacked idle "it idles very low at cold start it will almost die if i dont rev it up a bit and the idle goes up to about 1k when it gets warm and varies between 600-1k occasionally, but im assuming thats due to my supra afm which im going to revert back to my stock afm here soon. ive also checked plenty of vacuum diagrams and my hoses are all hooked up correctly so i dont think vacuum is an issue but i could be wrong. if any1 has any ideas on what could be the issue with the rough idle let me know id appreciate it thanks.

It could be almost anything. Spark plugs gapped wrong, IACV not functioning properly or air in the cooling system, fuel pressure, incorrect valve adjustment, etc. you'll have to check them one at a time and see if anything makes a difference. Also do a compression test and see what you get there. Keep us posted on what you find.

On a side note; I'll take the Supra AFM off your hands if it still works and you don't want it anymore. How much do you want for it?

Vacuum lines may be hooked up right, but they can still cause problems if they leak. Use an unlit propane torch to search out any leaks. Just move the nozzle around all the hoses paying close attention to where they connect. If you have a leak the RPMs will go up when the propane his the combustion chambers.
