I searched and couldn't seem to find the answer.

So when I shift from 1-2 it's fine but then if I shift to 3 I guess the little bit of upward force seem to pull the shifter up and then the shifter can no longer change gears unless I find where second gear is and push back down into the transmission. Help me please. How do I fix this. This is also my first stick shift vehicle so.

 

No need to start a duplicate thread. Check your shifter seats and the plastic cap on the end of the shifter. They tend to wear out. Marlincrawler has the parts...

 

Didn't realize I did until you already replied to the first one. It said it didn't post the first one because I'm on mobile and it's kinda hit or miss

 

Rokblok is right, check that stupid little cup 9/10 times thats the issue, these trannys are pretty tough. if that checks out ok.... well your tranny may be in need of a strip down. does your truck have a w56? how many km are on it? whats the fluid look like?
