cant find the right lower rad hose

Hey guys,

So, i am having problems finding a lower radiator hose... i know it doesnt sound like a big deal, but i cant get one, or locate one to buy rather, all the ones at autozone dont come close to fitting, the radiator has a pipe coming out of the radiator the motor is a early 80's 22r, if that helps... and advice?

Pictures will help a ton here. What your describing does not sound right, specifically the part where you say a pipe is coming out of the radiator.

Most auto part store hoses are cut to fit, while dealer (OEM) are a direct fit.

This is cake.

Either take old hose and match at local auto parts store or go but one at the dealer.

If you don't have old hose measure the drop and separation and go match one up. Dozens of possibilities at local parts place in sure. Done it on just about every 3.4 swap we've done.

x2 on the cut to fit. Just got a new lower rad hose for my '94 22re from NAPA. The drop and offset were spot on, just about 4 inches too long. Nothing an X-acto can't fix.

Red face

I could see where this could be a problem if this engine was swapped in out of a 82 Celica.

Because they don`t use the pipe and the lower hose comes off the water pump to the radiator . So if it is a non stock combination it might be interesting

Around here people either can`t or are to lazy to match up hoses .

Case in point mystery lower hose off a 4runner even with the hose in hand all the autoparts I deal with said no nothing like that in stock.

Not like in the good old days when they would say go hunt for it yourself.

I have the worse luck with things .

NAPA has always been good for rare parts. I got my last lower hose from NAPA I just took a bunch out to match up to the motor. Other parts stores seems to hire idiots.
