22r whining noise, then oil light came on and truck shut off

Hey guys.87 yota with a 22r. So here's the story I was driving down the road and my truck started making a whining noise, Once it got louder my oil light came on and I began losing power as I got off the freeway then it died. I had it towed home and when I got there I drained the oil and the oil looked fine with no metal shavings in it and not milky at all. Truck will start but not stay running and continues to whine. Can not figure this one out. The truck has a new timing chain, oil pump, water pump, front main seal and harmonic balancer, please help!! Again it's a 22r

Check the oil filter, cut it open and check if there is metal inside.

At this point if it were me, I'd remove the valve cover just to do a quick inspection. Then I would do a compression test then go on from there.

Was the chain guides broke when you replaced them, and did you clean the oil pickup screen ?

Could you please clarify exactly what you mean by "intake"? Was it the intake manifold or just an intake hose?

I am having similar symptoms with an 82 pickup with 22R. It used to just occasionally not hold idle after starting it unless I held the gas pedal down, but lately I've been hearing a faint whine and today it started dying while driving it down the road at 45 MPH or so. I left it running and popped the hood when I got home. The whining seems to be coming from right under the air filter canister. I'm going to check again for dust buildup somewhere, which is often a sign of a leak.
