92 22re.. no knock sensor found. is there one?

i went to my local pick and pull today to get the rest of my r - re swap parts and the motor didnt have a knock sensor or wiring for it. i pulled the entire ecu harness and ecu out myself along with the afm, coil, and distributor. there is nothing left but block and head.. no wires no sensors.

the truck is a 1992 with a w55

I think 2wd trucks don't have them, but somebody else will know for sure.

the hole for a knock sensor on that block obviously never had anything in it. Dunno if the 2wd just didnt come with one or what (odd?) but where one should go, the hole on that block says its not been penetrated in a long time.

come to think of it i gave a buddy of mine a knock sensor for his 2wd. It had one and was throwing a code that the knock sensor was well detecting a knock or malfunctioning so to rule it out i gave him an extra i had.

so yea 2wd 22re had a sensor, atleast his did.

The reason why i say the truck was 2wd is the tire size, on the door tag says 195/75/14.

By inputting the VIN, that engine comes up as a 22RE (EFI), not carbed.

I put a 2wd 93 cab on my frame after totaling my truck and it doesn't have a knock sensor either. I'm getting a really bad pinging sound under a load, cel blinks a few times but never throws a code
