Oil pressure drops

My oil pressure has been fluctuating a lot recently in my 22re. I didn't notice is before i changed the oil, but since i've changed it, it seems to drop at low RPM, then go back to normal at around 2K-2.5K. I haven't messed with my spark plugs, cap, or rotor yet. I'm running 10w-30 and a pureone oil filter....should be what i'm supposed to be running. The truck seems to idle fine so that's what i'm not understanding. I'm also going off my stock oil pressure gauge.

The stock oil pressure guage isn't completely accurate. If you do a search of the forum, you will also see that the 22re isn't supposed to have a lot of oil pressure at idle.

What pressure are you getting?

It is normal, I have an auto-meter oil pressure gauge in my truck, when the engine is at operating temp and at idle I'm around 12PSI, when I am cruising @ around 2500-3000RPM I'm at 65-70PSI

Check out the oil pressure switch, and check for possible oil leaks

Ok that makes sense. Oil pump spins faster as the engine turns faster. I just never noticed it before that's all.
