1982 pickup dash panel climate control panel removal

I just got a NOS dash panel, and i need to figured out how to get the last chunk of the old one out. The old panel was cracked and broken so it came out in three chunks easily after i removed the screws from around the bezel and the gauge cluster trim, cig lighter and 3 ash try screws.
What I need to know is how to remove the climate control panel, I think there are 4 screws on the back side and that loosens it free from the trim piece but you still cant pull the control panel out? Do the knobs come off somehow, or does is push back through the panel after the 4 screws are removed from the back?

to re & re the panel ... you will need to do the following :
the knobs will just "pull" off and the heater control has a "nut" , you'll see it with the knob off , but to get the unit out , there is much more to it . you will need to un hook the 4 control cables .
follow the cables to the source :
1. heater control valve (engine bay)
2. cowl vent (passenger side up under the dash)
3. bylevel (r side , down by the skinny pedal)
4. climate control (hot cold) passenger side tranny hump)

cables are held in with a clip , just push the large tab on the clip , and release the cable clamp , and then push the "coil" of the cable off of the pin on the contol , and the cable will then be free to pull out .

un plug the switch .

when all have been released , you will be able to pull the panel out

hey y’all, first time here. I am trying to remove the dash to replace the cigarette lighter on my 1983 Toyota Trekker. Just got it and I’m in heaven.

having a headache bc the climate controller inside the dash (the white plastic piece) seems to be attached to the front panel of the dash by two screws that seem impossible to access. I drew a yellow circle around them.

based on the note above, if I unhook the cables, will the entire climate controller white piece come out with the front of the dash? If so, how will I get those cables reconnected if I pull them out?

thanks,

sam

I drew a yellow circle around where it appears there is a screw keeping the white plastic climate controller attached to the front panel of the dash.

really easy to hook the cables up again , they just snake in the way you pulled them out .. they just connect on to the heater door flaps via a "circle and a tab" you just need to release the cable holders near the ends where they connect .
