So I took my heads up to the machine shop (Kelley's automotive/machine shop) anyways the manager personally want to call me an let me know that my heads in the lack of a better words warped in the shape of a rainbow lol wtf! Toast so I had to buy new heads witch they got full complete heads from Japan (1261.69$$) later but geez what the hell caused that ? Cause my 2nd gen no runner wasn't even over heating for one an ran fine the only reason I pulled them was cause I was milk shaking, crazy huh

 

Heat usually, but did you unbolt them in the proper order? I would take your heads elsewhere if the only option they've given you is spending half the value of the truck on another pair though.

 

Ya I unbolted the correct was an it was my choice to buy new heads it's stupid to go try an find another set of used heads an go through the same issue , but it's still cheaper to just get new heads an worth it to me since my 4runner is stupid cln

Now that's what you call STUPID. You could have bought fully rebuilt heads and installed performance cams and O/S valves for that much $(or less). Fully rebuilt heads ~$300 each + high lift/duration cams ~300-400 for the pair + 1mm O/S Stainless Steel valves ~$85 + ~$100 to get the valve seats recut + ~$100 shipping(if that)= ~$1185-$1285
