Ignition coil resistance to high? maybe thats problem?
Vehicle is 88 pickup, 5 speed 4x4, engine is a 3.0 V6. Spent days working on it, pouring blood, sweat, and grease to get it running again. Its sat for several months, so obviously the battery died. Got a new battery and alternator, starter checked out good, battery terminals are good. Checked out ignition coil resistance, it should be between .5 and .7 ohms for primary, im reading consistent .8 set at 200. Secondary should be between 11400 and 15600, im reading a consistent 14.2 set at 20k. Can this be the problem i desperately been trying to figure out? And can my truck sitting for months with battery plugged cause this? Also looks like factory coil, so it might just be old. Or can it be the ignition switch cause it snowed and my rear window is broke.
When i turn key i get no power to guages or lights in dash, all i get is click and nothing after. Headlights work, horn works, all fuses checked.
