Oil Pump replacement question, and a few others

Well, replacing the oil pump in my 88 22RE, as soon as the new rear springs are in, )but thats besides the point)

My question is, my brother is rebuilding his saturns engine, and he has to pack his oil pump with some sort of Vaseline type gel or something. Do i have to do the same thing, or do I just have to lube the pump with fresh oil before puting it in?

Also, anyone have an image of the adjustment/equalizer bar for the parking break? The one that connects the end of the front cable and the rear cables together.
Thanks in advance

Make sure the pump is super clean and pre-lube it with motor oil. You can use white lithium grease but I don't believe its necessary.
