This is a new to me pickup (1993 4x4 SR5 V6) and has the factory installed alarm. The rocker switch to the left of the steering wheel is not hooked to anything- the PIN connecter is just hanging. I can't even locate the other end. The alarm goes off every time I open the door, without starting the truck (for example, getting something out of the truck). Then, if the alarm goes off, and the horn starts beeping- I have to jump in the truck and start it. This shuts off the alarm. Is there some way to disable or defeat the alarm? My keys are normal keys- no fobs or electronics.

 

if you open the door you have 1 minute to turn on the ignition. If the alarm goes off, you turn the ignition on and off 2 times. If you don't want it, pull the kick panel off on the driver side and there should be the factory harness plugs. Its a t fitting. The actual control box is tucked away on the passenger side. The alarm is more of a nuisance than anything.
