What Cb to go with ?

Just putting out a feeler on a good small semi cheap trail CB to work with. me and the other guys are looking for something to work for us in the mountains that's not a cell phone.

So give me your opinions need some pro's and cons on the models being used.

Thanks.....

i founds a cobra 25 classic on craigslist for 25$, seems to work great for me attached to my whip and 500 watt linear, all hidden behind the seat except for the cb itself

I like Cobra 75 as when not in use unplug and out of the way.
One CB and multiple jacks you can use in multiple vehicles.

I love my little Cobra 19 Ultra III, it was cheap and works great. Easy to find a place for and stays out of the way.

With gas engines and sun spots they can have lots of static.

If it was me and this is just a small group that seldom interacts with others .

I would look into the FM systems that have really come down in price in the last few years.

Better range and really made for in the mountains.

Remember CB is running on the AM band

see I was looking at the Cobra 19 ultra III because it was cheap and small. But I had seen one to many bad reviews on it. That it didn't have very good range or that it had staticy reception.

being new to the realm of cb I'm looking to put a 4ft firestik antenna with it also.

Haven't looked into fm transmitters much.

I was able to get a complete setup for under $100. Found a Cobra 29 NW ST on ebay for $40, and then got an antenna, mount, and cable at a local CB shop. Works great and I could have gotten the price down even more if I looked for used antennas and mounts.

I have a Cobra 75 and a 4ft wilson antenna. Not a real expensive set up, but it works.

I have a few CB radios around some place there was a time I thought i needed one all the time.

It got to the point it was off more then on so now there around some place buried with other things.

I always had good luck with President radios but I have not used any in about 10 years or longer.
