i have an 87 22r, i havent had any electrical problems with it until now, only thing i did different was balance all 4 tires and when i backed it out of the shop i noticed the battery light came on dim when in reverse, and it will come on bright and blow guages fuse, so no turn signals, guages, brake lights and i havent had reverse lights since the problem started, what is wrong with this pos now?!?!?!?

 

Check your wiring underneath by your tranny and bell housing. I had 2 wires melted together and everytime with reverse it would blow them. Separated the 2 wires and problem solved!

 

thanks ill try it when it cools down a bit, 102 outside, i think i'll stay in the air conditioning!

 

Be careful How you address your vehicle if you want a POS that is what you will have.

It also won`t hurt to check if the back up light switch is shorted every time you shift into reverse it will blow the fuse.

Try unplugging the switch see if the fuse still blows .

If it does you have a short else where check the tail lights for rubbed wires :wabbit2:
