I was curious if there is a preload on on the wheel bearings that would be affected if I removed my CV Shaft Assemblies from my 87 IFS truck?

Is there any other down sides to removing them?

Any issues with the manual locking hubs if the CV shaft was not installed?

Should be able to remove the axle shafts without messing anything. It wont affect the manual hubs but leaving the axle out will allow dirt to get in there since it will be open
