1985 toyota 4.3 vortec lift???

i recently bought this truck from my friend he knew less about trucks than i do and that's not a whole lot anyway he told me it had a 3" body lift and a 4" suspension lift total 7 inches. so i looked and it has 3" blocks in the rear leaf springs and 3" blocks in the body mounts but the body mounts towards the front are 3 1/2 almost 4 inches and there are no blocks in the front leaf springs. i mostly just want to no if i can run 36" swampers on it and if there actually is a 4" suspension lift. the truck (33x12.50 bfg m/ts)

Blocks in rear leaf springs

Rear body mount blocks

Front body mount blocks

any insight as to if i can fit 35 or 36s or on what exactly my lift is would be much appreciated

Never put blocks for front leaf suspension lift. And its advised to not do more than 2" for body lift. And with that it should have a high grade bolt to help prevent shearing the bolts off in a emergency braking or other high body stress situations. I have personally dealt with a truck that sheared off all body bolts/mounts during a fast braking maneuver. It's not pretty...
A four inch suspension lift will clear 35s. There may have to be a little trimming depending on wheel back spacing.
Good luck!!

also does that mean i dont really have a suspension lift besides the leafspring blocks?

You may have a suspension lift. Cheaper Lift companies usually do lift blocks in the rear, and an Add-a-leaf or spring pack replacement for the front. Lift blocks in the front are illegal in most states, but just dangerous regardless. Reason is the front does the majority of the braking on any vehicle. When you hit the brakes, the front diff (on a solid axle vehicle) naturalliy wants to rotate. The tires/brakes are stopping rotation, and the vehicle(attached via the springs) wants to continue in forward motion, causing the axle to rotate. This will cause the springs to twist, which would cause blocks to "spit" out.
In regards to a body lift and rust, it doesn't matter if there is no rust and brand new hardware. The same principle applies. Tires and frame are trying to stop, while the body is only attached with a few bolts, and wants to continue forward momentum. The bolts COULD sheer off. A bolt has a lot more tensile(pulling apart) strength than sheer(cutting in two) strength. I'm not saying this always happens with all body lifts, but it has a higher probability due to longer bolts equal more leverage...
