1995 pickup 4X4 Rad fan noise

I searched but cant find anything on this. When my fan clutch kicks in the fan is really noisy is this normal?

Its not a bang noise or anything its just spinning and I can hear quite loud.

One more question. When the 4X4 came new with 31" tires did they have different gearing?

Thanks

Would a new fan blade or fan clutch fit the noise?

On a hot day or when the a/c is on the fan clutch will spin the fan faster, so it will be louder. Check and see if your fan clutch has a spring on the front of it, if it does make sure its clean and not covered in mud or anything else.

A fan clutch can go bad. There is a bearing that allows it to free spin that can go bad, there is also silicone oil inside of the fan clutch, so make sure its not leaking oil.

Very normal on toyota fans for them to be loud. Its the nature of the beast. The fan usually locks at hot temps for first start up when cold. Thus being louder...

I love the sound personally... its kinda funny cause it kinda scares people when i drive by... makes me smiles...

If the factory tire size in the door panel is 31" then yes normally they have different gearing....

Correct me if im wrong but i think and 31" factory tire has 4:88 gears if its a v6. The 22re 4x4 always has 4:10 i believe.

The fan sound is normal & means it's working properly.

I have a '94 V6 XtraCab; it has 5 spd, came with OEM 31" tires & 4:10 gearing.

Ah, that's hilarious.

I get the same looks as well. People think they're about to get run down from behind.
