rounded out allen bolt 22re intake manifold

rounded out allen bolt 22re intake manifold

I need some advice!
trying to change blown head gasket. I found the hidden allen head bolt and I rounded it out. Now What can I do?

I wonder if an EZ OUT would work? I welded a metric nut (10mm I think) over the Allen head before re-installing so I could just use a socket to tighten it. Hope you get it out, good luck!

Thanks for that advice. Sounds good.
I finally got it out with vice grips. So easy, dont know why they use that stupid allen bolt in the first place.

When I break into a new engine to me for the first time, I always put on a set of vise grips on it and use a allen wrench at the same time, then use both for leverage to twist out. I have had to many to strip out. That is one bolt that I do not torque to specs.

i have also rounded that bolt, twice actually. Last time I pickup up a new one at the dealership after mauling it with the vice grips.
