hi i just picked up a 95 tacoma with a 3rz motor for a really good price from one of my relatives for 500 bucks with a clean title. comes with the tow package as well. it has 195k miles orignal on it. the truck does start but when its cold you gotta give a little bit of gas though but not to much other wise itll die. and it does have an exhaust leak near the firewall area. and it runs but it has no power at all. it also has a check engine light but i havent pulled the code yet. i was just thinking of taking it to a shop and getting the motor rebuilt so ill have a fresh motor. or should i try and fix it my self? any recomendations to a shop here in gresham/portland area in oregon? im new to the trucks but i do know a little bit about cars had a civic before this it was built and turbo.. so i have some knowledge about engines. heres a picture of the truck

I'd check the compression. From what I know of my 3rz, if the valves don't get adjusted it will eat some. And the cracked manifold doesn't help.

 

It does have a check engine light havent pulled the code yet. Its leaking from the ege tube as well. Would a bad maf sensor cause it to not have power and hard to start?

 

Theres no tick or anything sounds just fine besides the exhaust leak

its my egr tube that connects to the exhaust thats leaking i order one from toyota today. gonna check everything out this week end and pull the codes to see what it is and do a compression test on it as well
