Need some opinions on the best all around tire for a daily driver that is gonna see some muddy trails.what have you guys used how long did they last. What kind of tread wear.

If you have the ca$h, BF Goodrich AT KO. Hands down. Ask anyone. Once you see them and know the tread pattern, you will see them all over the place and realize they are the perfect daily driver / light off-roading standard.

 

I recently bought a set of cooper discoverer mud tires. So far i love them they are really quiet and ride very smooth. the tread looks like the old bfg mud terrain. not sure about the mileage yet I have only had them 3 weeks. they had really good reviews though.

 

There aint. Hard tires suck for ride quality and traction, and soft aggressive tires wear out instantly.

A buddy's Mazda B-series came with brand new Yokohama Geolandar AT-S, 29's or 30's. They probably sucked an mpg or two, but were pretty good at light off-roading, mostly snow/slush/ice. I was impressed by how quiet they were for how aggressive they looked (compared to tarmac car tires, anyway). Dry-road handling was nothing to brag about; they had a kind of squishy, slightly delayed response to steering input, but what do you want for a 20-year old 4x4 truck?

Every other 4x4 here in Norcal seems to have BFG KO. I don't have personal experience with them, but I suppose that in this day and age of being able to read thousands of tire reviews using a device the size of a pack of cards, there must be a reason for that.
