Are all factory e-lockers the same?

Are all factory e-lockers the same?
Doing a search for PN 41110-3D030 shows that it's specific to 3rd-gen 4Runners. But I know that it's effectively the same part as for 1-st gen Tacos, so that doesn't really help. 
What about 2nd gen, 2005 specifically? Will the e-locker from that truck fit my '86 axle housing, with the usual mods?
