What kinda mess do I got here.

I've always had vibration in my 4-runner, I associated it with the front driveline, or the front end constantly spinning. Recently I just swapped manual hubs on the front end.

While I was doing that I discovered where my vibrations were coming from. Where the cv shaft bolts up to the diffrential ( thats what I'm gonna call it.) There is tremendous amount of play. I could move that portion about about 1/4" or so up and down. Now that I got manual hubs on at least I can drive it (like I inteded to buildup my other truck)

Just curious as to what I'm looking at replacing. And possibly how much to replace it.

Its probably just your cv joints that are worn. Axle replacement is about $150Can. per side.

That flange that it's bolted was actually moving. Not just slop in the joint. You could sit there and watch where it bolted up to move.
