97 Runner Dome fuse under hood blows as soon as contact is made

Ok, To start, the door was left ajar for days and killed an already weak battery. Stupid me crossed the cables while jumping, blowing the 120 amp alt fuse. It was replaced as well as the battery, now I have no dome lights, radio and lighter. If the buzzers ever worked they don't now either.
All the fuses in the interior location seem to be ok. I haven't checked with a meter. The dome fuse under the hood is blown, I tried two fuses and they blew also. The battery was still hooked up. Is that fuse dedicated right from the battery?
When the fuse box under the hood was removed could something have been shorted.
Here is another issue, the previous owner had installed a rear monitor and hooked it up using the front dome light as a location and power. I had previously removed the monitor and replaced the original dome light. Everything worked fine before the door was left open with the light on.
So does anyone know what can be causing that fuse to keep blowing? Should I unhook the battery first. Sorry for the length of this post.
