22R Weber Carb install just a couple Q's!

Okay, I've got my new Weber carb in my 86 pickup. Took out all emissions junk that didn't seem necessary, ordered an EGR Block plate for the cylinder head. So my two questions:

What about the vacuum line to the charcoal canister? Do I need this running through the VSV or can I run it into the vacuum on the intake, or can I just plug it?

Bigger Q. WHAT DO I DO ABOUT THE WHOLE EGR AIR CIRCULATION VALVE STUFF? The one with the big line running under the intake, and used to be attached to the resonator. I get it that I can order a EGR Crossover Block Plate from LC but do I really need to do this? Isn't there a simple way like just taking out the valve thing and capping that hose?

My goal is just to have the truck run better. Thats why I'm doing this. I searched a million zillion times and got all the other issues resolved but these two. Thanks.

Okay guys, nobody answered me so I just left the charcoal canister alone and I installed plates to block off the air injection system on the headers and the EGR. So the truck started up and ran fine. But what I'm confused about now is that the truck sounds very different, and louder. There seems to be a lot of noise coming from the exhaust area under the hood. Makes no sense to me.
