Has anyone ever tried this disc brake conversion?

No e-brake is my biggest beef with these rear disk kits.
I know you can get domestic rear calipers with e-brake but the toyota setup just doesn't work well with it.
For hill starts, an e-brake is crucial for no roll back/tire spin.

If you've got an auto, you can probably live without an e-brake.
I've got a 5 speed and cannot.

 

I sell the kits but personally, I don't like them.

They use a metric GM caliper and you have to bastardize too much stuff to make them work, they use pesky banjo bolt fittings and I just don't like them.

On my personal vehicle I had a full floater conversion and used all Toyota parts for a rear disc conversion and added a dshaft e brake, but this was a trail rig. On a daily driver I personally wouldn't bother.

I wouldn't bother with it. It deletes your E-brake. This is more for a trail rig.

 

Meh.....I've been running rear discs for years now and haven't had any problems.

 

i have been running the tg kit for over two years and would reccomend it. i am going to go with an all pro driveshaft e-disc brake. you can use a skye kit that use your own calipers, cadillac i think with e-brake setup. either way there is a huge improvement in brake performance. well worth the money and work. imo...100% bolt on. i guess the worst thing is the rotors are modded and available from trail gear, if that is a problem. i don't think so.
