Tranny fluid through the shifter?

On my 86 truck,5 speed my friend will be changing the shifter seat and socket and how does he add the tranny fluid through the shifter hole?Does he need a funnel and hose?Will be using the Redline MT 90.

From: Alamogordo, NM
Step 1. Remove shifter
Step 2. Place funnel in shifter hole
Step 3. Pour bottle in funnel
Step 4. Repeat step 3 until desired quantity of fluid is in transmission
Step 5. Reinstall shifter (remove funnel before doing this)
