1987 Toyota Turbo Truck rust inspection
Hey Hey guys, first post here. I'm looking into purchasing my first toyota 4x4 project, and after several months have located an '87 Turbo 4x4 for sale not too far away. Would like to get some feedback on the rust seen below to try to get an idea if this is worth the money.
Truck is a 1987, 246K miles on the odomoter. Not running at the moment. Owner said it had said and was starting every once in a while but does not start now.
He's looking for $1250 on this truck. What do you guys think?
Thanks!

It all depends just what your skills are like in the welding department.
If that is a good engine and could be made to run with just a tune up and fresh gas??
I agree the price is to much I might offer $500.00 and go as high as $800.00 but then I just sold a Turbo engine for $1600.00 and the buyer pulled it themselves.
Food for thought.
Be nice to know just where you and this truck are??

Thanks for the feedback. I'm in Culpeper, VA. The Truck is a few hours east of here, in Callao. Guy says other than what's shown above "From the spring shackle to the front bumper is as good as it was20 yrs. ago"
I think the rust above is a bit much to deal with right now, even if the front is pristine, which I find hard to believe. I'll post some more pics if he sends me some of the front.

If you wanna wheel it I wouldn't be going for this one, but that's my 0.02. If you went and found it was mostly surface and still solid, I'd go as high as 600.
I don't wanna sound like a rust expert but I do live in New England, I have a lot of experience.
The engine and trans are something to be desired if all it needs is a tune up.

im not sure about this you guys, there isnt any major holes in the frame that i can see, you could almost por15 it after reinforcement and prob not have any issues, offer him 700$ and see what he says, id goo 800$ but thats about max though, espically if it doesnt run
