Can you swap out Mass Air flows on a 94 4runner

OK, I have a 94 4Runner if that huge Mass Air Flow on it, My Question is: Can you change this out with the older Mass Air Flow that is round. This older one has only a three wires going to it and the one on the truck has five wires. Is there anyway to wire that five wire into the three wire and everything work right. I know this is a long shot with doing something like this. All in All I want to know if there is anything I can use on this 3.0 older or newer Mass air flow. Any Ideas, besides the 3.4 swap?

What you are saying makes no sense at all.

1. It's a Volume Air Flow Meter. Not a Mass Air Flow Sensor.
2. All 3VZ-Es use the same VAFM.
3. They all have 6 wires going to them.

Any ideas?

Start doing your homework. You've got a lot of reading to do to get caught up...obviously.

Oh and BTW, wrong forum to post this in. 86-95 Trucks & 4Runners would have been better. But it's probably more like newbie tech to tell you the truth.

Like I've said, they're all the same. So what do you mean by a small one for another year? And why on god's green earth would you want a smaller one anyway? Trying to lose some horsepower?
