ZUK mod on a 1st gen shortbed! Pics

My 82 shortbox was starting to sag so I decided to do a ZUK mod on it.
The spring rate is 125lbs. I had some 2 1/2" muffler pipe left over I used for the catch and 1/4" for the plate.
I had to modify for a U Bolt Flip Kit.
The picture of my truck is with 3 80lb bags of concrete in the back in addition to miter saws, sawzalls, drills and most of my recovery gear. At least 500lbs in the back of that little truck. It wasn't even THINKING of sagging under that load!
Took an afternoon. It is well worth it.
Rides like a dream! THANKS ZUK!!!

OH MAN, of course you had to build those BA CATCH ENDS! lol... JK, looks GREAT! My 12"x125#ers are a bit stiff/hard off the parking lot bumps.... Thinking it's time to dump those Rancho 5000's i'm using from my buddies 4" lifted PU?... GRRR, I have enough to catch up on with my Ruby! lol.

Making a 'TOP 10' 82 into an even sweeter rig?>>> Gotta be spearo! lol.

How's the ride with those springs in there? It seems like it would be a bit stiff. Also, have you tried seeing how well the rear end travels with those springs in and did you notice if it lifted it at all? I've thought of doing the zuk mod but I don't want my Toyota to ride like my buddies old F-Super Duty and I don't want to lose any of the flex from the rear end.

Yes!
That gas tank is a wee close to what I was welding and grinding.
