Torsion bar HELP!

this weekend i was adjusting my torsion bars. the passenger side gave me no problems but the drivers side was a different story...the bolt was so rusted it wouldn't move. So i took the torch and heated it up...sadly the bolt head snapped off.

How do you get the bolt out? is it hard?

Would it be earier to replace the WHOLE torsion bar?

Is there a DIY on how to do it?

Any help will be appreciated!!

I broke mine on my 95 runner a few years ago. I can't remember exactly, but it seems like I was able to pull the bolt stem out the top while it was still attached to the (top) nut.

Mine broke and went through the floor board. I was able to get the bolt out and get a replacement at the dealer. I think it was like $10.

I think I had to compress the control arms all the way up to get it out. I don't remember exactly. It was not fun though.

Just take off the wheel. Just use a jack to lift up the control arms. Should be fairly easy since there is no pressure on the torsion bar anymore.

How did you get the rusty bolt out? Did you have to drill it out?

No I did not. Just came out when I had enough room.
