My temp gauges hovers around the middle. When i first got the truck it would do it all the time and now it only does it some times. Every once in a while when i stop to fill up and start it again it jumps way high like it normally should. If i hit the dash it will work for a quick second. Whats odd is that it starts out at cold and rises as the engine temp rises, but once warm it will not fluctuate from its fixed possition.I've seen a few old posts about this same problem. Has any body found a fix for this. I tested the gauge by grounding the senser wire and it will max out like it is supposed to. Since it responds when i hit the dash I pretty sure its the gauge. The wrecker wants 70 bucks for the cluster and it has to be the exact one i have (AT, Tach). Ebay is even more expensive. I just did the HG so i need to have the temp gauge.
