Misfire driving me nuts

I have a 97 taco with a 1/4 mil on her and last week she started missing on me an check engine light came on. Code showed #2 misfire. No biggie been there done that so i replace plug and shes fine for a few miles comes back popped hood made sure wire was conected at coilpack and plug still there, last plug change i replaced wires also so i dug around and found an old wire drove her and she was fine for a few miles and it came back, to make along story short ive swapped coilpacks around ohmed them bought all new plugs and wires made sure injectors are pulsing and cant get rid of the misfire on cylinder 2. What weird is everything i do it will run great fora few miles maybe 10 sometimes and comes back. Its like im arcing but i done it all. Any ideas? Im gonna do a compresion test and valve leakdown this weekend but seems to me if i had problems there it wouldnt run good for awhile.

That sounds like a very weird situation. When it comes back does it come and go? Or just keep doing it?
Also if you shut the truck off and then drive again is it present?
The only thing i could think of is that maybe something else making it loose compression.

Check #2 injector to make sure it isn't going bad.

Ive listened to the injector for pulse and it sounds fine cant get to it without pulling the plenium to ohm but it pulses like the rest. I been wondering if theres something in it , should no this weekend takin it to abuddy that has the tools to check her out.

the 95.5-97 injectors did fail. It may be worth swapping it over to a spot where its easier to ohm it when its missing.

I was experiencing #2 and #3 misfire. Changed plugs, upstream O2, and cleaned MAF and problem went away....about 400 miles ago. Hasn't returned.

I had an injector fail intermittently in my 97. I used mechanics stethoscope to touch the injector while it was missing and the injector was dead.
