88 yota takes a long time to start

I have a 1988 toyota truck, I recently put a motor in it (91 22re).

The problem I have is that its very hard to start. When it sits over night it takes a long time and multiple turn overs to get it to fire in the morning. Once it starts it runs fine and idles fine. It also starts good the rest of the day. Its just a pain in the butt to start in the morn.

I noticed the truck also doesnt have much top end power compared to the other motor....idk if this is linked to the other problem or a whole different issue.

Thanks for your help.

Check your cold start injector. Search around on the form and look up the resistances for the cold start injector time switch. Also take off the injector and put it into a jar and see if its working...

You may also want to run your truck and then look at your fuel injector rail, I have had the O-rings go bad and they bubble gas out. This makes the fuel rail loose pressure and takes a couple times of the truck turning over for it to start because it needs to build the pressure back up in the rail.
