i was just wondering if anyone knew approx or exactly if you know, how much the hard top from a 86 4runner weighs???

 

~125ish lbs, it all fiberglass. One person can take it off but it isn't fun. 2 will get the job done very easy! look up 4crawler's site, he has a nice single person rigged strap set up that works if you have the space.

 

I've gotten under it bent over and carried it on my back like a turtle shell. Granted, I'm a reasonably strong guy, but I could say pretty confidently that it's under 200 lbs.

Much more manageable with another person though.

 

okay, thanks a lot guys. I was just wondering for 4wheel purposes, I go on the sand and was wondering if the weight i would lose would help me.

 

Aloha , 864runner . I took mine:off a few times and its about 125 , but my truck felt the load off ya know got lighter , could feel it springier for my old leaf springs . Then get or make a bikini top . great:

Okay man, thanks alot. Hawaii rains quite a bit now, especially it being winter, so im not gonna take it off yet haha. but i will look into getting a soft top for summer time wheeling. Do you know of any cheap places to get a soft top ordered??

 

I weighed my 88 top. It was ~150lbs.

Actually, I'd like to get a soft top for mine. But I'm wondering how noisy they are. I know my 88 is pretty noisy on the highway with the top off (though most of it is wind noise). Are the soft tops noisy on the road?
