water in engine oil question
#3
That depends on if you have the time and money to change the engine instead of changing the oil. Might want to buy some cheap oil and run it a few minutes and then change the oil and filter again with the good stuff after you think you have if flushed out. SO no, not a good idea to run it, even at an idle because if you have water in the motor, then you might have sand in there also.

Oh, I did it, twice, lol. You would think I would have learned the first time. But the second time I had another motor built, which just got its 2nd head gasket in 1500 miles, so I went to the truck rodeo and managed to break the air filter housing. The less you run it and drive it the better.

ya bro i did it 4 times in the last week but this time my motor was under water for like 10 min lol. so it was worse this time. whats funny is my toyota filter filtered the water straight out the oil. i checked it when i got to my dads work and all the techs said it looks like nothings in it and its purely clean. but all still recomended i changed it so i did. they said it is a 22r and it normally wont mess up and the toyota filters i use are good at gettin water out the block and so on. so good news and i really recomend toyota filters!

Just because things are ok now doesnt mean you havent caused any problems. I hydrolocked my 3.0 a little while back. I got towed out of the 'puddle' I was in and immediately dropped the oil, blew out the cyclinders and poured out the intake on the trail. She fired back up with only a few hiccups and ran for another 3000 miles or so before calling it quits. I couldnt tell you at this point what went wrong exactly but I had a nice mixture of coolant and oil pouring out all over the block. I didnt bother to troubleshoot the 3.0 since I already had a 3.4l on the way but I'm sure I'll find out once I get into the swap.

To cesar kpalberto, try checking the oil cooler, if one of the fins are faulty you can get coolant ingress to your motor through engin block coupling through the cooler it's self and if your seals are ok you would never see it.
